Sun grab 2 POW honours

Two members of the Okanagan Sun have been named BC Football Conference Players of the Week.

Defensive lineman Ryley Butler is the defensive player of the week.

Butler led a ferocious Sun defensive charge which tied a BCFC record with 10 sacks during a 27-3 win in Nanaimo Saturday. Butler had three of those sacks along with two tackles and one assist.

Kicker Thomas Huber is the special teams player of the week for the second time in three weeks.

Huber accounged for 16 of the 27 points in the Sun win over the Raiders.

He had five field goals and converted the club's lone touchdown.

The offensive player of the week is Kamloops running back Jacob Palmarin.

Palmarin set a new Broncos team record with five touchdowns, including his “BCFC Moment” and highlight reel 45 yard touchdown gallop.  In all, he rushed 12 times for 193 yards.

The 3-0 Okanagan Sun will host the reigning BCFC champion Langley Rams Saturday night at the Apple Bowl while the 2-1 Broncos travel to Nanaimo to face the 2-1 VI Raiders.
