The BC government is targeting friends and members of the East End Chapter of the Hells Angels, hoping for some financial gain.

The Ministry of Attorney General has filed its second civil claim within days in BC Supreme Court asking to keep Hells Angels money it claims is the proceeds of crime.

The application asks the court to allow the government to keep $58,400 seized in November 2004 from Randall Potts, an East End Chapter member.

Potts was convicted almost three years ago of conspiring to produce and trafficking methamphetamine, as well as possession of proceeds or property obtained by crime.

The BC government launched court action last week in an effort to keep more than $187,000 seized from chapter "hang around'' Jonathan Bryce Jr. in 2005.

Under the Civil Forfeiture Act, the provincial government can apply to the courts to seize proceeds of unlawful activity.
