Valemount RCMP are currently investigating the death of snowmobiler who was located in a ditch along side of Highway 5 earlier today.

RCMP were called to a snowmobiling accident early this morning where the driver was found pinned under his snowmobile.

The snowmobile had been travelling off the highway on the clearing between the roadway and tree line.

Despite efforts of resuscitation the male was taken to the Valemount Clinic where he was pronounced deceased.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
