Agassiz, BC- On December 26, at approximately 6:00 AM, a correctional officer from Kent Institution was arrested for allegedly trafficking drugs into Kent Institution. The officer, Paul Fleming, age 42 of Agassiz, was arrested at the institution and has been charged with 2 counts of trafficking a controlled drug. Police believe these drugs to be marihuana and methamphetamine.
"The RCMP and Correctional Service Canada (CSC) have been working together throughout this investigation," said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck. "This partnership led to an arrest without incident and the two agencies will continue to work together as this case moves through the court system."
Paul Fleming will appear in court again on January 29, 2013 at 9:00 AM and has been released from custody on several conditions.
