Three arrested with porn at border

VANCOUVER - Canadian border officials stopped three men with what was believed to be child pornography in separate incidents at air, sea and land border crossings in B.C.

Officials with the Canada Border Services Agency say the first arrest was made Dec. 2, when guards checked a marine vessel in Surrey and discovered a laptop with illegal images.

On Dec. 5, a foreign traveller was stopped at the Vancouver airport and his laptop, two cell phones and several USB flash drives were seized.

Later that day, a U.S. resident was arrested aboard a bus at the Pacific Highway crossing, and border officials say they found suspected child exploitation images on his laptop.

One man remains in custody, another was arrested and released with conditions while the third man was arrested, refused entry and left Canada.

Kim Scoville, CBSA's Pacific region executive director, says these cases show that people who prey on children operate globally without regard for borders.
