Two British Columbia teachers have been killed in a crash near the Interior town of Clearwater, B.C.
Kamloops Thompson School District superintendent Terry Sullivan says the man and woman were in a vehicle on Highway 5 Sunday night when the car skidded off the road and landed in the North Thompson River.
Sullivan says a critical response team has been sent to Clearwater, 120 kilometres north of Kamloops.
The team will help students and staff at the town's single elementary and secondary schools deal with the loss.
He says the deaths are a tragedy for the families of the victims, the school district and the community of just under 5,000 residents.
The man and woman have not been named. (CHNL)
