Kamloops RCMP is investigating a bizarre mishap that happened out front of the London Drugs store on Lansdowne St.

The incident happened just after noon on Thursday, when a 1989 grey Buick pulled into a handicap stall, jumped the curb and hit a metal signpost. The pole bent back and pinned a 25-year-old Kamloops man who was walking behind the sign at the time.

The pedestrian was treated and released from Royal Inland Hospital for minor cuts to his knee and elbow.

The 72-year-old driver from Pinantan Lake was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.
