Flooding emergency at Surrey hospital

People are being turned away from Surrey Memorial Hospital after a flood at the emergency room Monday morning, according to reports.

The cause has not been confirmed, but it's believed a broken water main gushed roughly a foot of water onto the grounds of the property.

Only people who do not need to be at the hospital are being sent away, according to the Surrey Leader newspaper.
The Fraser Health Authority confirms it is dealing with a "flooding emergency" at the hospital, but has not confirmed any other details.

The Leader is reporting that nearby roads are also shut down and BC Hydro crews are on scene to address electrical hazards.
