Body of missing American found
New Hazelton RCMP, along with Search and Rescue located the body of Warren Andrew Sill in the Gull Creek area. The body of a hiker who had been missing since July has been found in northern BC.
On Saturday, a local search and rescue team found what appeared to be a shirt belonging to Sill near a waterfall site and a pool area that could not be accessed through the summer months due to the terrain and high water level.
“Due to the decreased water levels at this time of year, members were able to access the area and located a body,” stated Cst. Lesley Smith, North District Media Relations Officer.
“We can confirm that it is Warren Andrew Sill and our condolences go out to the Sill family and all his friends.”
Sill, who is from Ohio, was reportedly in the area to film a documentary about Kermode Bears. Shortly after he disappeared, police located his vehicle parked at the entrance of the Whiskey Creek Trail, but the search was concluded on July 20.
