Police in the Victoria area are investigating an apparent homicide that left one man dead and another injured.
Victoria police say officers responded to a 911 call Friday night from a house in Esquimalt, west of Victoria, where they came upon a "chaotic scene."
A news release says officers found a 57-year-old man who was unresponsive and suffering severe injuries.
The officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but the man, whose name hasn't been released, later died in hospital.
A second man was also injured and is expected to recover.
Police say they've arrested a 49-year-old Victoria man, who is currently in custody.
