RCMP have confirmed one person is dead and three others are in critical condition following a crash on the Trans Canada Highway at Rogers Pass.

The two vehicle crash forced closure of the highway 4km east of the Rogers Pass summit for several hours.

The highway re-opened shortly after 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.

names, ages and home towns of those involved in the collision have not been released.
