Minivan slams through Surrey home

A Surrey resident has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a minivan that crashed into a basement and ignited a fire.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Warren Tyson says the occupant was sitting in a chair at about 3 a.m. Saturday when the vehicle slammed into the home.
He says the driver of the minivan and an unknown number of occupants fled the scene.
One suspect has been taken into custody as police investigate the incident.
