Acting on information gathered during their investigation, the Burnaby RCMP Strike Force was able to recover the violin, the bow, the case and a song book from a residence on 19th Avenue in Southeast Burnaby.
The violin is described as a Joseph Nadotti Fecit from 1772. The bow was valued at $3000. The thief also took two lap tops from the vehicle.
The property belonged to a musician who had a concert performance next month and she was very worried about her violin.
None of the other property has been located.No charges have yet been laid; however, the investigation is still ongoing.
The violin has been returned to the victim through a friend who lives in Burnaby.
