Driver critical in Roger's Pass rollover
Jun 16, 2012 / 2:22 pm
The Mounties say the driver of a tractor trailer from Winnipeg is in critical condition after the vehicle rolled over on a BC highway.
The RCMP say the crash happened Friday evening on the Trans-Canada Highway in Glacier National Park, between Revelstoke and Golden.
The trailer was travelling west when it rolled over at a sharp turn in the highway.
A news release says the driver was airlifted to Calgary in critical condition, while another person in the vehicle was taken to hospital in Golden with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mounties are attempting to determine the cause of the crash.
Investigators are examining whether speed, driver inattention and inexperience, and the truck's load configuration were factors.
