VANCOUVER - The Mounties are pouring extra resources into an investigation in which explosives were used in a blast that tore through a motor home near Whistler, B.C., injuring two men.

The men suffered minor injuries in the Jan. 16 explosion, which police are calling a targeted attack.

The RCMP's Criminal Operations Office has taken over the case and brought in the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, the Explosives Disposal Unit, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and several other specialized teams.

RCMP Chief Supt. Janis Armstrong says explosives increase the risk to the community and it's prudent to work with the assumption that if they were used in this attack, there are more explosives floating around.

She says every specialized unit in the province is aware of the explosives and they're working with other agencies across Canada to find possible leads.

Police said at the time of the blast that both men had been camping in a public parking lot for about a week while they were snowmobiling in the area.
