Svend Robinson Pleads Guilty

Guilty as charged!

Former NDP MP Svend Robinson has pleaded guilty to stealing an expensive ring -- a move that cost him his political career.

Robinson says he was suffering from severe stress when he pocketed the ring from an auction house last April.

The ring was worth more than $64,000 and Robinson was charged with theft over $5,000.

Robinson has been given a conditional sentence and told to do 100 hours of
community service.
