Fire fighters working BC's largest fire at Lonesome Lake won't be getting a long weekend. The rank six fire is now 140 square kilometers in size.
The Forest Service is hoping for low winds to prevent the rapid spread the fire has seen in recent days.
The flames have forced 60 people out of their homes in the Charlotte Lake area and another 2,000 are on evacuation alert. No homes are threatened by the blaze at the moment.
The total number of wildfires burning across B.C. is now 384. Only 5 pose a potential threat to communities, the rest are mainly spot fires.
