A car was on fire on the shoulder of Hwy 97C Saturday

A car was on fire on the shoulder of the 97C highway Saturday afternoon. 

Castanet reader Larissa Mueller caught footage of the flames as the car she was in travelled past the vehicle. 

She says the footage was taken around 2:40 p.m. in the Brenda Mine area of the connector. She believes the vehicle was a red Jeep.

Police were visible on scene, and traffic in the video appeared to be flowing smoothly.
