"Thank God you pulled us over!" an eight-year-old passenger yelled when Sgt. Sandra Glendinning stopped a car over the weekend that was dragging a wheel and being driven by a drunk driver.
Glendinning says she was shocked when she realized the child was on board.
She pulled over the impaired female driver after she passed by "dragging one tire sideways," CTV News reports.
When Glendinning reached the window, she saw a distraught child inside.
"Before I can say anything, the eight-year-old passenger starts yelling, "Thank God you pulled us over! I thought we were all going to die!"
The driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving. Officers ensured the child was safe and notified B.C.'s Ministry of Child and Family Development.
