RCMP have confirmed a motorcyclist died in a crash Thursday on Highway 3 near Eastgate.
Cpl. Chris Manseau says witnesses observed a red Honda motorcycle travelling eastbound unable to hold a turn and drift over the centre line into oncoming traffic.
The motorcycle struck a westbound semi tractor-trailer unit. The rider was declared deceased at the scene.
At this time, there is no criminal investigation underway. South Okanagan Traffic Services has now taken over the investigation.
No information was released on the age, gender or hometown of the deceased rider.
The crash resulted in the closure of Highway 3 Thursday afternoon for more than two hours.
