ORIGINAL: 11:30 a.m.

Police have confirmed one person died in a crash Thursday afternoon on the Okanagan Connector.

The crash occurred between a car and pickup at about 3 p.m. near the Pothole Creek Bridge.

RCMP have limited details at this point, but say the initial stages of the investigation indicates the driver of the car was travelling west, lost control of their vehicle and went into oncoming traffic, where the car was struck by an eastbound truck.

Each vehicle had just one occupant.

Police were not able to say what driver was killed in the crash, which resulted in the closure of the highway until about 7:30 p.m.

More details may be released Monday.
