An eight-year-old girl fought off a possible abduction attempt in Nanaimo on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the girl was biking home from Brechin Elementary School when she was approached by a man in a red pickup with a white stripe.
The man got out and asked if she wanted to see something in the truck. He tried to grab the girl, but she was able to kick at him, get back on her bike and ride home, CTV News reports.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, with a dark beard and dark hair, and was wearing sunglasses.
A family friend says the girl is shook up, but otherwise OK.
