In an unusual twist, more charges have been laid in the case of murdered college student Kiran Dhesi.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has charged the mother of a college student, alleged to have murdered Dhesi with trying to help her son after the fact.
CTV News is reporting that 53-year-old Manjit Kaur Deo has been charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.
Dhesi's body was found in a burning SUV almost two years ago and Harjot Singh Deo was charged earlier in May with murder in relation to the case.
"It will come as a shock to have two members of the same family charged for the homicide of a young woman," Cpl. Frank Jang told reporters Tuesday.
