Kittens tossed in dumpster

Investigators want to know who dumped two kittens in a downtown Vancouver dumpster last week.

CTV News reports the kittens, which have since died, were discovered by a neighbour who heard them meowing from the trash bin. They called the BC SPCA and tried to comfort the tiny animals.

"It makes me angry," Connie Jorsvik told CTV News. "I just can't imagine that someone thought it through."

The kittens were rushed to an emergency vet, but it was too late to save them.

"These kittens were thrown away just like garbage, and that's something that didn't have to happen," said SPCA senior protection officer Eileen Drever. "If anyone out there has any problems with their animals, please reach out to the SPCA and we will try to provide assistance."

The dumpster was located in a secure parking area at 1040 Pacific Street. The kittens were found in a plastic bag that, in a cruel twist, was marked with the words “Love You.”
