Police have arrested a man in connection to a series of fires in Courtenay, B.C. on Saturday.
CTV News reports the largest of the fires was at the downtown Cona Hostel.
"I saw the door was burning and I kicked the door in to make sure everybody was safe, and I ran to the other rooms, just to get my friends out of there," witness Michael Vestergaard told CTV.
Crews responded to two other fires at about 10 a.m. sparked within minutes of each other.
Comox Valley RCMP says a suspect remains in custody pending further investigation.
