Sinkhole swallows SUV

A large sinkhole has damaged part of a parking lot in Langley, partially swallowing a vehicle in the process.

CTV News reports the pavement under an SUV opened up Wednesday morning, caused by a nearby water main break at 57A Avenue and 200 Street.

No one was injured and traffic was closed in the area while crews worked to repair the damage.

The City of Langley told CTV News staff will be working on the water main fix after hours tonight, but called it a “standard repair,” attributing the break to an old fitting.
