Cards for the homeless

A Delta woman's kitchen table is piled high with Christmas cards destined to brighten the season for homeless people across North America.

Erin Schulte asked people on social media to join her family effort to show the homeless they won't be forgotten.

And the response to her "Christmas Card Collective" has been overwhelming, CTV News reports.

The cards will be laid out on pillows in shelters in B.C., Alberta, Ontario, Seattle and Los Angeles leading up to Christmas.

"It's just a big beautiful bundle of Christmas spirit and giving," Schulte told CTV.

"The folks that stay at our shelter can be society's forgotten and so this is like, 'Hey we're thinking of you, we know who you are," said Mike Musgrove with the Surrey Urban Mission.
