A tractor-trailer caught on fire on the Trans-Canada Highway near Chase on April 20.
At about 11:20 a.m. Chase RCMP responded to a call of a tractor-trailer on fire about two miles east of Chase.
The fire sparked in one of the trailers, according to police.
The driver managed to unhook the tractor saving it from damage.
Fire crews were not called to the scene because the incident occurred outside the fire protection area and it was left to extinguish on its own.
One of the two westbound lanes was closed for the majority of the day to allow workers to safely access the vehicle.
