Pedestrian struck

Burnaby RCMP are asking for the public's help to try and find the driver of a vehicle involved in a 68-year-old pedestrian being taken to hospital overnight.

Police responded to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the 7400 block of Gilley Avenue just before 9 p.m. Sunday night. The 68-year-old pedestrian was transported to hospital where he is reported to be in critical condition.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian did not remain at the scene.
Early reports indicate the vehicle is likely red in colour and will have damage to the front of it. The vehicle was southbound on Gilley Avenue and the pedestrian was struck near the intersection of Beresford Street.  After the pedestrian was struck the vehicle continued southbound on Gilley Avenue without stopping.

Burnaby RCMP are hoping someone may have witnessed the incident or has a dashcam video and was in the vicinity of Gilley Avenue and Beresford Street when it occurred.
