Slush covered roads

Roads are covered with slush across the Okanagan Valley and it doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

Castanet readers living in Penticton said they are currently getting rain, while a mix of rain and light snow is falling in downtown Kelowna.

"Big, fat, wet heavy stuff," was reported by another reader falling in Vernon.

A mix of snow and rain is falling over the Okanagan Valley Wednesday evening creating a mess on roads.

More than three collisions were reported during the 6 o'clock hour, with at least two vehicles going into ditches in separate incidents.

Periods of rain are expected Wednesday, tapping off later in the night.

A vehicle was reported to have gone over an embankment near Rimrock Court at about 6:15 p.m.

Emergency crews were responding to a multiple vehicle collision near Cross Road and Valley Road at about 6:30 p.m.

Another call for a single vehicle into a ditch in the Glenmore area was reported at about 6:40 p.m.

Drivers are reminded to adjust to winter conditions.
