King tide causes flooding

Some low-lying areas of Metro Vancouver are currently flooded due to the latest "king tide," which is expected to last until Sunday.

Sections of False Creek's David Lam Park are submerged, as is the Shoreline Trail boardwalk in Port Moody.

High water levels have also been observed in other parts of Metro Vancouver, as shown by residents' posts on social media.

The first king tide of the season occurred from Dec. 5 to 9. After this weekend, the next king tide is expected between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4, the B.C. Storm Surge Almanac indicated.
