Family hopes for closure

The discovery of human remains Wednesday near Lake Cowichan is offering possible closure for the family of a man who went missing more than 10 years ago.

DNA tests are being done by the BC Coroners Service to determine the identity of the deceased.

The remains were found in the same area where Derreld Rayner went missing in May 2007.

The 52-year-old was last seen walking his dog on a logging road.

"It's been almost 11 years. We want closure and we want healing for the family and the community," his son, Rick Rayner, told CTV.
