NDP leaks 'Santa's list'

Just in time for Christmas, the BC NDP has released a "leaked document" from the North Pole.

With tongue in cheek, the NDP claim they've received a gingerbread-scented, snowflake-adorned envelope that contained Santa's secret naughty and nice list – and who should be right at the top, but the BC Liberals.

The NDP give the Libs the traditional lump of coal because they "only care about themselves and their donors, and not working for the people of British Columbia."

Notable names on the list include Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone, "for fooling Santa into thinking the ICBC deficit was 9,000 per cent smaller than it actually is," and interim Liberal leader Rich Coleman, for "leaving the Speaker of the House off his Christmas card list."

Chilliwack-Hope MLA Laurie Throness is also singled out, for her suggestion that a B.C. mountain be carved into a pair of hands as an art installation. "Why not a reindeer, or a candy cane?" Santa asks.

On the nice list, Boundary-Similkameen MLA Linda Larson got a Santa shout-out for "avoiding confrontation in Question Period," and Santa made a point to sarcastically thank the entire Liberal caucus for borrowing with abandon from the NDP election platform in their final throne speech.

Santa could not be reached for comment on when and how he became so politically partisan.
