Dog walker found alive

Search and Rescue officials say they have found a woman who had been missing for three days.

Dog walker Annette Poitras, 56, vanished Monday afternoon after telling friends she was taking her dog and two clients' pets for a walk in the Westwood Plateau area. She was found Wednesday.

Coquitlam Search and Rescue crews combed Eagle Mountain trails Monday evening for signs of the 56-year-old. When she wasn't found, teams from the North Shore, Surrey, Ridge Meadows and Lions Bay joined the effort, as well as members of the RCMP.

The search had to be scaled back Tuesday afternoon as the sky got dark, and Mounties said severe weather and treacherous terrain were reducing their chances of finding her.

Mounties remained at the site overnight, and search and rescue crews returned Wednesday morning. Further updates are expected at a news conference Wednesday morning on the Westwood Plateau golf course.

While Annette has been described as in good shape, she was not prepared to spend a night outside.
