Fired after boy hit by bus

Officials from Khalsa School Mission where a student was hit by a bus, say the driver of the vehicle has been fired.

One of five campuses of the Sikh independent school said the driver was suspended after the incident on Oct. 6 and an internal investigation was launched.

Since then, the driver’s contract has been terminated.

Video shows two students getting off the bus, one runs ahead while the other gets hit by the bus’s front end. The bus appears to drive over the student leaving the student in the street.

According to CTV News, the child struck by the bus was a seven-year-old boy. The girl running ahead of him was his sister.

The boy is currently in intensive care at B.C. Children’s Hospital with lower body injuries, including a pelvis injury and a scrape on his leg that will require plastic surgery.

The name of the driver has not been released.
