An argument may have led to an early morning stabbing at a residence in the Cloverdale area of Surrey.

RCMP officers responded to a call around 6 a.m. on the 17000 block of 57th Avenue and, upon arrival, located a male suffering from stab wounds.

He was transported to hospital in serious condition.

"Although in its early stages, the initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between two individuals resulting in the stabbing," said Sgt. D. Honeyman, RCMP spokesperson.

Police are speaking to witnesses but ask that anyone with information who has not already been interviewed to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
