Highway 3 remains closed in both directions 10 km west of Creston because of a mudslide.
There will be a geotechnical assessment at first light.
An alternate route is available via Highway 3A and Kootenay Lake Ferry, with an estimated travel time of 2.5 hours
A mudslide has completely closed Highway 3, west of Creston, Saturday afternoon.
The slide occurred at about 4:00 Saturday, 14 kilometres west of the Creston.
DriveBC is warning motorists to expect about an hour delay.
