Surrey RCMP attended to the 10800 block of 132 Street just before 7 a.m. on Sunday, where a man's body was found in an outbuilding where a fire had broken out.
The man's body was found in one of the outbuildings in a backyard, but neither the cause of the fire nor the cause of death have been confirmed.
The identity of the man is not known at this time, but the BC Coroners Service has been notified.
Officers with the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Unit are reportedly investigating, including interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for more information.
No more information has been released by police, but more details are expected to come as the investigation goes on.
