Sex offender arrested

A woman who faced a number of court-ordered conditions for convictions involving sex offences against children has been arrested in Abbotsford.

Thirty-nine-year-old Audrey Black was picked up by police investigators on May 18.

The Abbotsford Police Department says in a news release that the woman's arrest was the culmination of an investigation into whether she was obeying release conditions banning her from using the Internet.

Police say Black faces three charges of failure to comply with her probation orders and was released on several conditions, including not to possess or use any device capable of accessing the Internet.

When she moved to Abbotsford in 2011, police issued a public warning saying she had a criminal history including convictions for sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and possession of child pornography.

Black was sentenced to four years in prison in 2007 in Moose Jaw, Sask., after she pleaded guilty to sexual interference involving two young girls, while her husband, Donald Black, was sentenced to eight years for sexual exploitation and making child pornography.
