One person is dead following a motorcycle accident near Chase Saturday.
On Feb. 6, RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1, one kilometre east of Chase.
“At approximately 9:28 a.m., a westbound semi tractor-trailer combination unit was struck head-on by an eastbound motorcycle after it crossed the double solid yellow divided lines,” said Const. Valerie Guillaume. “The motorcyclist died instantly.”
The driver of the semi was not seriously injured and traffic was re-routed for about six hours as investigators examined the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
