Shots fired into home

Police are investigating reports of shots fired into a home in Surrey overnight.

RCMP responded to the 14200 block of 62A Avenue at 11 p.m. Monday.

The home was occupied, but no one was injured.

Police received several calls from witnesses who heard gunshots in the area of 142nd Street and 62 Avenue, Surrey RCMP spokesman Sgt. Paul Hayes says. Witnesses then saw a suspect running from the area described as a South Asian male wearing a mask.

Calls from within the residence confirmed that shots were fired at two people in the garage. The intended victims are known to police, and it is believed this was a targeted attack.

The occupants of the home are not co-operating with police.

The Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over of the investigation and is continuing to gather evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
