WestJet threats up to 5

Another day, another bomb threat against WestJet.

For the fifth time in less than a week, a threat was called in on a WestJet flight, Thursday afternoon.

This time, the threat was aimed at flight 1709 from Las Vegas to Victoria.

Victoria Airport spokesman James Bogusz told CTV the plane landed safely, and all passengers on board were taken to customs, where they were held for debriefing.

The threat isn’t believed to be credible, but RCMP searched the aircraft with a canine unit.

On Wednesday, a similar threat forced a Toronto-Vancouver WestJet flight to divert to Calgary.

On Tuesday, one was delayed in Saskatoon, and on Monday another was diverted to Winnipeg en route from Edmonton to Toronto.

On Saturday, another WestJet flight out of Edmonton was forced to land in Saskatoon.

Last week, a threatening note found in the washroom of an Air Canada aircraft shut down St. John’s International Airport.
