Heritage home for free

A 1909 Edwardian heritage home is up for grabs in North Vancouver for free – all you have to do is move it.

According to I Love Heritage - Real Estate and Living, the heritage home is on a lot owned by developers who plan to build a townhouse complex.

Either the home is moved by its new owner, or it will be demolished.

The realtor says the more than 100-year-old home at 246-248 E 5th St., is a little rough around the edges, but shows a lot of potential.

Another heritage home on the block will be saved and restored by Tien Sher Construction Group, but this one did not require saving and its fate is up in the air.

The developers are expected to provide more information about the house by the end of the month, including square footage, number of bedrooms/bathrooms and condition.

Ideally, the home is supposed to be removed from the lot by May.

Last month, a heritage Anglican Church rectory in Vernon, up for sale for $1, was demolished after no one came forward to move the building.

Anyone interested in the home can contact Kyla Gardiner at iloveheritage.com / [email protected] or Charan Seti with Tien Sher Construction Group at [email protected].
