Another shooting at Coast

A shooting in Burnaby Friday afternoon is under investigation by RCMP.

Witnesses heard screaming on the 3800 block of Hastings Street about 3 p.m. A woman named Karen was working nearby when a colleague noticed an injured man in the parking lot.

“I tried to find out what happened, but he wouldn’t tell me, he just says he feels like he’s dying, he doesn’t feel good, and he just continuously said ‘I need help, I’ve been shot,’” the woman told CTV.

She held the man's hand and stayed by his side. Shoes and articles of clothing were left on the ground at the scene.

“I saw him laying on the ground, and he had already had lots of blood all over him, and pretty much was out of his shoes, laying on the ground just screaming,” another witness named Bliss said.

The man was described as in his 20s and Caucasian.

Police told people in the area the shooting appears to be targeted and that they have no reason to fear for their safety.

There is no word on the victim's condition or any suspects in the incident.
