Earthquake strikes off coast

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook the ocean floor near Vancouver Island Wednesday afternoon.

Earthquakes Canada said the quake, which struck at about 12:22 p.m., was "Not felt."

There are no reports of damage, and "none would be expected."

The epicentre was located approximately 144 kilometres south of Port Alice, offshore.
