Rider killed in head-on crash
A 53-year-old Burnaby man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a vehicle on Highway 3 5km east of Manning Park.
RCMP say the collision occurred about 2 p.m. last Friday.
The rider was heading eastbound when he apparently lost control on a sharp portion of the highway, crossed the centre line and came in contact with the front portion of a westbound vehicle.
The force of the collision was such that the man's helmet was dislodged and was located about 10 metres away.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three passengers in the westbound vehicle escaped injury.
The highway was bare and dry at the time of the crash.
Police say alcohol was not a factor.
The RCMP and BC Coroners Service are investigating.
No names have been released.
