Hwy. 1 reopened
Update: 7:45 p.m.
Highway 1 is now reopened in both directions, 32 km west of Revelstoke.
Expect heavy traffic volume between Revelstoke and Perry River through to 11:00 pm, due to traffic congestion from the earlier vehicle incident.
Update: Hwy 1 remains closed, as police investigate a vehicle incident.
The estimated time of opening is 7:30 pm. There is no local detour available.

Hwy. 1 is closed as RCMP and rescue personnel are trying to free several people who are trapped after a three car pile up near the Enchanted Forest.
The Revelstoke RCMP Detachment General Duty members are working at the scene by the bridge over the Eagle River. The RCMP Trans-Canada East Traffic Services unit have an investigator present and a Traffic Services Accident Reconstructionist is en route.
Revelstoke Fire Rescue and Revelstoke BC Ambulance Service are in attendance along with HMC and the Ministry of Transportation. Flaggers are on scene.
