Busy weekend for police
It was a busy long weekend for RCMP officers in Revelstoke, as they responded to 81 calls for service between Aug. 1 and 4.
There were 19 people lodged into cells for public intoxication over the weekend, including several fights, assaults and other disturbances.
Police also aided with several medical distress complaints, trespassing, noise complaints, mischief and drug seizures. Several youths were found to be consuming alcohol in city parks and going through campsites, and there were 21 complaints about erratic drivers.
The RCMP also assisted in three car accidents over the weekend and received reports of people jumping off bridges into the Columbia River. Some people have upcoming court dates courtesy of vehicle theft and a domestic dispute. Police also performed two impaired driving investigations.
