Botanie fire: Alerts rescinded
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District Emergency Operations Centre says imminent risk of danger to life and properties in Electoral Area “I”, residences along Botanie Creek Road and Highway 12, has diminished.
The Evacuation Alerts issued at 1700 hours on July 23, 2014 and 2230 hours on July 17, 2014 will be rescinded for the following areas effective July 27, 2014 at 2000 hrs:
Botanie Creek Road from the junction of Highway 12 and Botanie Creek Road north to Botanie Lake and all properties east of the Fraser River, along Highway 12 corridor from Highway 12 and the Botanie Creek Road to Highway 12 and Laluwissin Forest Service Road east to the western boundary of the Bootahnie IR #15.
An Evacuation Alert or Order may need to be reissued, if the risk of danger to life and property should again warrant such action.
