Large pot bust on highway
Police in Revelstoke pulled over a driver last week and found he was carrying a large quantity of marijuana.
Officers with the Integrated Road Safety Unit and Trans Canada East Traffic Services made the stop east of Revelstoke on the Trans Canada Highway, near Greely Road.
They detected a strong smell of pot coming from the vehicle, and the 23-year-old Alberta driver produced a Health Canada license for medical marijuana.
However it was discovered the man had 25 times the licensed amount, and also a large amount of cash.
He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and will appear in Revelstoke court in September.
